The third time’s the charm! Hours after Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, rumors spread that he had married his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea or that they would marry soon.
Usher had been married twice before his relationship with Goicoechea. He began dating his first wife, stylist Tameka Foster, in 2005. They became engaged in February 2007 and married in August of that year. They have two sons together: Usher Raymond V, born in 2007, and Naviyd Ely, born in 2008. According to court papers acquired by TMZ, Usher and his girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, obtained a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada, on February 8, 2024, three days before performing at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in Las Vegas. According to the website, Usher and Goicoechea have yet to file their marriage certificates. The license permits Usher and Goicoechea one year to marry in Clark County before it expires, according to TMZ.
Usher told People in an interview before his Super Bowl performance that he had “committed” to Goicoechea. “Listen, when you find someone who you know is a great partner, it’s definitely an honor and a pleasure to be able to share life with someone who wants to share it with you. And she loves you for who you are,” she commented.
He further added, “We have clearly made a commitment to be together for the rest of our lives for the sake of our children. It wouldn’t be strange for us to get married. We’ve already done that here. Usher also shared what he has learned from his relationship with Goicoechea. “When I started this journey, I found an amazing partner who was my best friend and was always there for me, and I thought, wow, this could be great,” he said.
He described Goicoechea as one of his biggest supporters. “I have an amazing partner and a support system,” he said. “We have a wonderful dynamic in our relationship where I’m still passionate about what I do, and as a young person, I’ve been through some difficult times working with kids and understanding how to communicate with them. I have an incredible partner to work with.
