Motorola’s latest flip phones were just introduced in China, with the Razr 50 Ultra serving as the main model. It comes with some enhancements over its predecessor. But how does it compare to another flip phone just debuted in China, the Honor Magic V Flip? Let us find out in this comparison.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra vs Honor Magic V Flip: Latest Flagship Chip
Even though both smartphones were released just a few days apart, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra performs better than the other. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC was used in the Honor Magic V Flip at launch. Although it has been a few years since its first release, this chipset is by no means slow. However, the newest high-end mobile chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, is included with the Razr 50 Ultra. Usually, it falls under the flagship killer category.

Honor Strikes Back: Bigger Battery & Faster Charging
The two devices are evenly matched in categories such as display, but the Chinese brand wins in terms of battery life and charging time. Motorola’s Razr 50 Ultra features a 4,000mAh battery pack that enables 45W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. The Magic V Flip outperforms the Moto gadget by featuring a significantly larger 4,800mAh battery pack that supports 66W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, it skips wireless charging; nonetheless, a larger capacity and faster wired charging are more important to me.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra vs Honor Magic V Flip: Camera
When it comes to cameras, preference is a bigger factor in comparison than technical specifications. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra has two cameras on its back: a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with a 2x optical zoom. It has a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front. A 12-megapixel super wide angle lens and a 50-megapixel primary sensor are included in the Magic V Flip. The 50-megapixel camera is used for taking selfies. Therefore, your preference for one also hinges on whether you want the extreme wide angle or telephoto lens at the back.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra vs Honor Magic V Flip: Display
The displays of the two flip phones are comparatively comparable. The Honor Magic V Flip’s primary panel measures 6.8 inches, whilst the Razr 50 Ultra’s display measures 6.9 inches. These two feature an LTPO OLED panel with 3000 nits of peak brightness, FHD+ resolution, and HDR. However, the screen on the Motorola phone has a smoother refresh rate of 165Hz compared to the 120Hz screen on the V Flip. On the Magic V Flip and Razr 50 Ultra, the cover screen is a 4-inch OLED panel with 120Hz and 165Hz refresh rates, respectively.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra vs Honor Magic V Flip: Pricing
Both flip phones are high-end handsets, yet there is a notable price difference. Motorola announced the Razr 50 Ultra with a starting price of approximately $785 USD for the base model. This makes it more expensive than the Honor Magic V Flip’s initial price of 689 US dollars.
However, the Razr 50 Ultra includes a storage configuration of 12GB + 256GB, which is more memory than the Magic V Flip’s 8GB + 256GB base model. But this does not justify an almost $100 price difference. So the Honor Magic V Flip is a great option if you don’t want to spend too much money. If you require high-end specifications such as a 165Hz display, a more advanced CPU, and a telephoto camera, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is a better option.
