Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will celebrate the New Year separately this year.
Speaking to Access Hollywood ahead of Monday night’s episode of The Voice, the “Sweet Escape” singer explained why she’s spending the holidays apart from her country singer husband.
“Well, it’s funny because I was going to be on his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,” Stefani, 54, said of Shelton, who was there on New Year’s Eve. But there were. Live: Set to perform at Nashville’s Big Bash.

As for her New Year’s resolution, Stefani, who released the single “True Babe” earlier this year, said she wants to “make a record.” On the health front, she hopes to be more “consistent,” and her romance-focused resolution is to “keep loving.”
Earlier this month, Shelton spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her New Year’s resolutions.

In November, she recalled a particularly emotional moment during the couple’s wedding that took her by surprise.
